I'll overwhelm 'serious boxer' Jake Paul - Anthony Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

Anthony Joshua is set to fight Jake Paul in an eight-bout contest which will be streamed live on the streaming platform.

British boxer Anthony Joshua said he will "overwhelm entirely" Jake Paul and "defeat" the American as the combatants met personally to build hype for next month's boxing match.

Ex two time world title holder Anthony Joshua faces social media star turned fighter Paul - in what is, by the numbers, a mammoth uneven pairing - at Miami's venue on December 19th.

Fighter's Attitude

"I plan to injure his face and hurt his body. My goal is to show I'm superior," Joshua, 35 years old, declared.

"I'll stamp all over him. That's how fighters think.

"I will really want to injure him. That's my goal."

Civil Interaction

In spite of those words, a calm Joshua and internet personality Paul - typically famous for his showmanship - were respectful and remained civil with each other.

Paul rather targeted ex Joshua rival Francis Ngannou and called him "a joke" after the Cameroonian rejected a fight offer.

Taking Aim at Tyson Fury

Joshua, in the meantime, targeted British rival Tyson Fury - and declined a million-pound wager 'Tyson Fury' states he will put on a Paul victory.

"Jake Paul is superior to Fury - he's actually sitting here," the boxer said.

"I give him credit for that."

Legitimate Fighter

Despite saying he intends to damage his opponent, Anthony Joshua refused to speak negatively about his opponent's fighting skills.

"Jake is a legitimate boxer," he stated.

Paul's History

Paul - who first rose to fame on the Disney Channel - has mainly boxed mixed martial artists or faded names since becoming pro.

He lost to British fighter Fury in 2023.

Financial Attraction

Still, the novice remains one of boxing's largest money-making draws, consistently making substantial financial rewards.

Forecast and Belief

The 28 year old predicted a KO victory in rounds four or five and claimed he would derail the long-awaited Joshua–Fury fight, which is reportedly under discussion for 2026.

"It's going to be me versus Tyson Fury next year," Jake Paul stated.

Size Disparity

As both boxers engaged in the traditional face-off, with their physical disparity evident, it highlighted just how unlikely this entire matchup is - and how remarkable it is that the bout is truly proceeding.
